Our guide with a beautiful Pere Marquette River Steelhead

Steelhead season is off to a great start! There are good numbers of fish throughout the entire Pere Marquette River system. Every outing we have found a good amount of fish willing to feed, along with some very large fish this year. I'm talking +15 pound chromers that are very hard to hold on to! We have mostly been getting bit on natural looking beads in 10mm size. Oranges and yellows have been working best. Also getting a few fish on spawn bags in the early morning time. The last 2 days we received a good amount of rain which brought up the water level in the river. This should lead to a good push of fresh fish for the next week or two. So far it's looking like its going to be fantastic fall/early winter steelhead fishing!

Randy with a chrome rocket. This fish thought it had wings!
